Wilderness Adventures
Every year, the Temagami Outfitting Company has the pleasure of facilitating a variety of exciting
adventures. We created this page to recognize the individuals who participated in these
memorable journeys and to document their time out on trail. We are good at developing your
ideas and can custom fit our packages to create the perfect wilderness adventure for you
and the individuals in your group. Use these examples for inspiration on how you would like to
develop you own trip, and allow us to assist you in making your ideas a reality.
• The Fearless Canoe Boys
Eight guys have been canoe tripping together every summer for the past 25 years. Last summer, they chose to celebrate their 25th anniversary in Temagami‘s backcountry. We were honored to work with this great group of men and have a part in orchestrating their trip. Happy Anniversary you guys!
• Father and Son Canoe Trip
Robert Davis invited his dad Greg to join him on a backcountry canoe trip. They set out on trail for seven days sharing this unique wilderness experience, paddling, fishing and
cooking over an open fire, reconnecting with the land and with one another.
• 2007 High School Wilderness Adventure
In August of 2006 teacher and facilitator Julie Watson set out with 7 students and one of our first rate guides to learn about the wilderness and to find their connection to the land. It was an adventure filled with new experiences and challenges. They had a blast and learned new skills that enabled them to paddle for miles, carry their canoes and gear across the land, build their own fires and cook their own meals. They helped and looked out for each other, realizing their new found strengths and the potential they had in working together as one. We couldn’t have a designed better classroom.
• The Porter Family Mine Trip
The Porter family‘s great grandfather had a mining claim in Temagami’s backcountry. When they contacted us looking for help in locating the mine, we were able to pinpoint its location and orchestrate their canoe trip to the old abandoned site. It was a great opportunity for the Porter family to share in a wilderness adventure reconnecting with each other and with their family history.

• The Summits of Canada
"The Summits of Canada Team" is climbing to the highest point in every Province and Territory of Canada. In the fall of 2006, the Temagami Outfitting Company sponsored their climb to Ontario’s Ishpatina Ridge and facilitated the canoe tripping leg of their journey. Via webcam, this great group of dynamic individuals shared their experience, communicating to classrooms throughout Canada and around the world. To learn more about the team’s exciting climb go to:
• 2008 High School Wilderness Adventure
In August of 2008 teacher and facilitator Julie Watson headed out on the second annual canoe trip with 7 students and a guide. They had a blast. On the return trip home they started missing being out on trail and thought their journey was way too short .They felt a sense of longing for the land that they had formed such a strong connection to. Participant Dan Paulson pretty much summed up their excellent adventure, “A week away from the monotony of civilization…no cares or worries except your next destination, clearing your head of everything but the world around you, embracing your surroundings and companions.”
